Program Description
As a teaching artist I focus on creating sessions that enable students to learn something about a subject by creating choreography about it. I teach a method called Curriculum in Motion - a method of arts integration created and practiced by teaching artists at Jacob’s Pillow Dance in Massachusetts for over thirty years. The classroom teacher and I partner together, the teacher provides the curriculum and I provide the dance and choreography skills. During the session the students create short dance phrases, and longer compositions connected to the subject.
