Program Description
PROJECT Trio: Sonic Time Travel is an interactive, high-energy musical assembly that takes K–5 students on an unforgettable journey through the history of music. Performed by a dynamic trio of flute, cello, and bass (with beatboxing!), the program leaps from classical masterworks to jazz, hip hop, rock, and beyond, showing students how music has evolved across time while remaining a powerful form of expression. Students are not just audience members. They become active participants through call and response, rhythm games, improvisation, and guided listening moments that spark curiosity and creativity. Along the way, the trio introduces key musical concepts such as melody, rhythm, dynamics, and collaboration in ways that are accessible and fun for young learners. Blending virtuosic performance with humor, storytelling, and movement, Sonic Time Travel inspires students to see music as something living and limitless. The program reinforces arts education while encouraging imagination, teamwork, and confident self expression, leaving students energized and excited about the possibilities of making music.
