MEET AUTHOR ILLUSTRATOR PENNY SCHNEIDER... As she enthusiastically shares her children’s graphic novel filled with humor and heart... ARTY. Arty is not your typical you see a fish you fight betta fish, he wishes for a friend. He knows how he is SUPPOSED to be, but he always felt different. Have you ever felt like you were different? Have you ever wished for something you thought shouldn’t be possible? See how this funny little betta fish handles this and tries to understand friendship. K-3rd Grade Programs Story read aloud and character development lesson. Create and draw a new friend for Arty! 4th-6th Grade Programs Penny shares ARTY and her process of writing and illustrating a graphic novel. Students will learn about character development and graphic novel paneling. Students will each create their own character and a paneled story. Presentations can be tailored to a class’s specific needs and grade level.
