Program Description
ScribeCraft IV: Book Binders invites students in grades 3–6 to become book artisans as they transform folded pages and colorful covers into hand-stitched journals. This hands-on workshop connects art, history, and STEM through measurement, pattern, and design while nurturing fine motor skills and creative confidence. Students explore how people once recorded knowledge and reflect on how communication continues to evolve—from handmade books to digital media. This program supports a Welcoming and Affirming Environment by encouraging every participant to express individuality through color, layout, and personal storytelling. Collaboration and shared discovery foster respect for diverse voices and learning styles. It supports an Inclusive Curriculum and Assessment by integrating multiple disciplines and allowing for differentiated success—each student’s finished journal represents unique interpretation and growth rather than comparison. Facilitated by Synchronicity Coaching’s Forgotten Skillz program, ScribeCraft IV blends creative arts and cultural understanding in a way that honors both heritage and innovation, giving all learners a tangible sense of accomplishment and belonging.
