Program Description
ScribeCraft II - Paper Makers invites students to explore the global art of handmade paper through creativity, culture, and sustainability. Using recycled pulp and simple tools, participants learn how people in ancient China, Egypt, and other cultures turned natural materials into writing surfaces. The workshop creates a welcoming and affirming environment where every child is recognized as a capable creator, encouraged to experiment, and celebrated for individual expression rather than perfection. Its inclusive curriculum highlights diverse cultural origins of papermaking, connecting world history to modern environmental awareness and artistic practice. Students experience the satisfaction of making real paper with their own hands, fostering pride, teamwork, and respect for global innovation. Each participant takes home handmade sheets and a certificate recognizing their creative achievement. Developed by Forgotten Skillz, a Synchronicity Coaching Inc. program, ScribeCraft supports cultural understanding and the belief that art and sustainability belong to everyone.
