Program Description
“Your voice. Your story. Your stage.” From character development to dramatic structure, students write original scenes and short plays — then workshop them with peers and actors in class. Sample flow (Note: this can be adjusted to suit specific classrooms requirements and/or needs) Meeting #1 - "What's in a name?" Introductions, basics of playwriting & character Meeting #2 - "Day in the Life" Creating & Developing a Character Meeting #3 - "Nice to meet you..." Elements of a scene, drafting Meeting #4 - "Pen to paper" Writing the first draft Meeting #5 - "The 'Table Read'" Sharing of drafts, where do we go from here?
