Program Description
The LI Explorium offers high-quality hands-on STEAM workshops facilitated by experienced STEAM educators, a rich and stimulating learning experience with multiple entry points to meet the needs of a wide spectrum of learners. We offer an array of "Big Ideas" in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Contact us to discuss which of our 20+ workshop programs best meets your needs or visit our website at www.longislandexplorium.org Our curriculum is aligned with the most current standards and is designed to include STEM career awareness, showcase a gender and racially-diverse array of STEM historical figures, and help foster the students' civic engagement and environmental awareness. Teachers are supplied with Exit Slips to support evidence-based writing and take-home letters to encourage continued exploration of concepts at home. Field trips at the Explorium include a 90 min workshop + 30 minutes for students to engage with our hands-on interactive Museum exhibits freely.
