Program Description
Students love our Reading Rocks Residency! Each day of the residency Mr. Matt of Turtle Dance Music and AutismFriendlyShows.com will visit multiple classrooms and help teachers and students adapt their favorite books into musicals. Teachers will select a book that students are currently studying and the teaching artist will guide students through their adaptation and content creation skills. Students will create original songs, scenes, sketches and dances to illuminate characters, plots and themes of their favorite classroom books. Residency can be over the course of a week, bi-weekly or monthly. Day rate can be broken up so teaching artist can visit multiple classrooms (can see up to 10 classrooms in a day).
