Program Description
In this engaging workshop, students explore how focus, confidence, and resilience are built through the science of learning. Using a fun kung fu form taught with storytelling, call-and-response, and brain-based “neurobic” techniques, participants quickly discover how to capture and retain information more effectively. Through guided practice, they learn that failure is not the end, but a step toward improvement, and that mindful repetition strengthens both skill and self-belief. The session culminates in a motivational talk, How Big is Your But?, where students identify self-limiting beliefs (“I want to succeed, but…”) and practice reframing them with the support of the reticular activating system. Each student ends by visualizing—and physically breaking through—their “but,” reinforcing the lesson that with focus and mindset, obstacles can be transformed into breakthroughs.
