Program Description
Award-winning author/illustrator and social-emotional learning specialist Paul Rodriguez focuses 25 years of character development and anti-bullying into the interactive Social-Emotional Learning series Rodro Reads: Pearls of Wisdom. The program uses five stories to explore the five CASEL core SEL domains. Each story provides a safe space for students to explore its SEL theme and is followed by an interactive smartboard board game to engage them in a fun Q&A review as they learn the SEL lessons in each story. The class is divided into four teams, each with a giant die to roll and a copy of the book to use as a resource to find answers. For each space they land on, they receive a question card or an action to take related to the story. Students in each group work as a team and take turns responding to the cards and tasks. The first team to collect the four colored pearls of wisdom wins. Each of the SEL domain-themed books can be scheduled to coincide with teachers’ classroom lessons to support their existing curriculum. A B&W coloring kit of each game for each participating class is included in the price, and a discounted price is available if your school purchases all 5 SEL themes.
