Program Description
Mic Drop on Bullying blends hip hop culture with evidence-based bullying prevention strategies in a high-energy, interactive school assembly presentation designed for high school students. A relatable and engaging presenter shares a personal story of resilience while involving students through live freestyling, storytelling, and on-stage participation. The assembly addresses identity, respect, digital drama, and social pressure in a way that resonates with today’s teens. It supports New York State Learning Standards for Theater by involving students in improvisation, performance analysis, and connecting theater to real-world issues. It also aligns with the Dignity for All Students Act by fostering empathy, inclusion, and a positive school climate. Students leave the assembly not only entertained but empowered to take action, support their peers, and speak up when it matters most.
