Program Description
Noelle is a crochet teacher, business owner, and mom to four kids ages 5-14. She specializes in teaching children how to use the craft of crocheting as a creative outlet and a meditative and calming activity. Noelle expertly teaches her students to crochet by feel and look rather than by a set pattern, embodying progress over perfection. Students will also learn pattern reading for crochet projects outside class. The mind is engaged and the hands perform repetitive and meditative stitches which can serve as an outlet for agitation, frustration, and anxiety. The first few classes will focus on stitches and hand posture and then the children will be free to create projects of their choice such as plushy animals and wearables. Once the students have learned proper hand position and a few types of stitches they’re welcome to make what inspires them, having Noelle for guidance.
