Program Description
Author Study is an innovative webinar series that brings Kwame and other notable authors into classrooms, libraries, homes, and community groups with live events throughout the year – for a reasonable rate (contact us for Title I school discounted registration) And while Author Study is fun for students, it also supports learning goals. Each Author Study livestream details an aspect of the writing process. Students learn about writing directly from celebrated, published authors. And most important, Author Study brings the joy of reading front and center, celebrating the power of words and individual expression. Every Author Study event includes a 45-minute virtual livestream session in which Kwame... Reads aloud from one of his beloved books Teaches a brief writing craft lesson - with a handout emailed to registrants after the livestream Chats with a special guest author (sometimes two!), and Hosts a live Q&A session about his own writing - taking select questions from attendees in the chat. Author Study events include an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, too. Help energize your students’ love of reading and writing! Author Study provides a fun, affordable, literary experience that they’ll never forget.
