Program title: The Three Little Pigs
Time Length: Approximately 45 minutes
Description: Mr. James, the guinea pigs (Buttercup, Beverly, Jenny, Pippi, Penny or Belle), props and puppets tell the the story while engaging the children with questions relevant to the story and discussions about the storyline and guinea pigs.
Animal Interaction: Animal Interaction time will follow the reading. A petting table is utilized to promote social distancing and for the safety of the guinea pig(s). At this time participants will be amused by guinea pig fun facts.
Age Appropriate Craft: Participants will have the opportunity to make a guinea pig ears headband craft (age/skill appropriate) and have a guinea pig parade (as space/time allows).
Goals: 1. Provide an interactive story telling animal experience.
2. Elicit responses/reactions to the story while utilizing guinea pigs to maintain participant attention.
3. Provide educational fun facts related to guinea pigs and their care.
4. Provide a hands on experience to touch and pet a guinea pig.
5. Provide an opportunity for participants to share their own pet stories and/or experiences.
6. Creative opportunity promoting self expression, dexterity and socialization
