Program Description
Explore the sun in all its glory in this planetarium show. Sunstruck takes us on a journey to discover the wonders of our magnificent sun and investigate how our star has supported life on Earth for millennia. Travel back in time to experience the birth of our Sun and solar system. Discover how the Sun came to support life, how it threatens life as we know it, and how its energy will one day fade away. The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum’s Reichert Planetarium is hitting the road. Our inflatable GeoDome Theater is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate 25 students. Schools wishing to book the portable planetarium must comply with the following requirements: Minimum 31’ x 31’ floor space. Minimum 14’ ceiling height clear of any hanging lights, projectors, or other equipment. Two available electrical outlets. The dome is for indoor use only. Setup and breakdown require approximately 1 hour each.
