Program Description
Through this dynamic program, students will bring mathematical concepts to life through the joyful medium of movement and dance. By exploring pathways, geometric shapes, levels, rhythms, and group formations, they will engage with math topics such as ratios, fractions, geometry, symmetry, transformations, algebra, and more. These concepts are explored through multicultural dance styles like Hip Hop, Stepping, Bharata Natyam, Salsa, Flamenco, and Country-western, promoting cultural understanding. The program culminates in group projects where students create short movement pieces focusing on dance and math elements. This experience fosters social learning, collaboration, and growth in self-awareness, confidence, maturity, and academic readiness.
