Program Description
Since the memory of things came out in 2016, I've traveled to schools around the country and continue to be shocked at how little students know or care about 9/11and how much misinformation they have. While textbooks serve a purpose, literary historical fiction allows readers to truly "step into story" and gain empathy and understanding for events in history. This program covers my writing of the book, including extensive research I did to get the story right on so many levels. It may also incorporate a writing and research workshop depending on the size of the audience and needs of the individual educators.
