Program Description
In this program, students will explore Indigenous cultural connections between nature, art and music. The talking stick is a ceremonial object used to teach respect in a group setting. Each element of the stick is symbolic in sharing ideas with others in a creative and honorable way. Every talking stick is one of a kind, symbolizing the importance of every tree’s journey of life. Participants will decorate their personal creations with feathers, beads, designs and other materials. A great program for all ages that includes Native American arts, Native flute music and a celebration of nature!
