Administrators and Teachers will learn about Land Acknowledgement and how important it to know about the people who lived here thousands of years ago along with their decendents of today. The discussion will outline how to develop a Land Acknowledgement and how it can be an instrument for healing and reconciliation. School Mascots is another topic explored. Native-themed Mascots in New York State Schools: "What's so controversial?" Denise Silva Dennis will discuss the issues as NYS seeks to provide"a safe and supportive environment for every child."
