A Taste of Australia
Australian Chris Pitkin teaches about his country’s Aboriginal Culture, Dot Painting and the Didgeridoo - the world’s oldest wind instrument.
Programme options include:
• Dot Painting workshops: students paint their own works on bark, boomerangs or cardstock, using traditional Aboriginal ochres, symbols & techniques.
• Didgeridoo painting & playing workshops: students Dot Paint their own Didgeridoos, using traditional Aboriginal ochres & techniques.
Emphasis is on traditional Aboriginal cultures: sharing, tolerance, acceptance of differences, & an understanding of nature & the land – the Aboriginal Dreamtime.
“A Taste of Australia” enriches the multi-cultural learning process for all students, especially those in art, social studies and music, at all levels.
All materials (paints, boomerangs, Didgeridoos, bark/cardstock) are supplied.
Workshops are adapted to your school’s social distancing/Covid requirements.
Workshops are one or more class periods, or full-days.
