Program Description
Lisa Muchnik is a local author, nurse anesthetist, yoga instructor, and mom. Her first children's book about finding inner beauty with yogic and SEL themes, Rainbow Panda, was traditionally published in the spring of 2023. The book received positive reviews from Kirkus and Booklist. The program opens with a reading of the book, followed by stretching and movement in place. Then, there is a mindfulness exercise based on the book that involves audience participation with some children coming up to place the rainbow colors on the panda and others answering questions. The program concludes with all of the children waving and moving with colorful scarves. The interactive rainbow visual brings feelings of peace, harmony, and an overall sense of well-being to the whole group.
