Program Description
Mission Be offers a half day Mindfulness Peer Leadership Training to help students cultivate their own personal practice and teach practices to their peers. The mindfulness practices are designed to improve student learning and school climate. Typical practices include: breathing, movement, guided visualizations and affirmations, SEL activities, mindful listening activities and games. Students will be given opportunities to work in small groups to practice teaching mindful breathing practices and guided visualization to one another. They will also engage in mindful listening and sharing activities, yoga, mindfulness and the day will end with fun games and activities. Upon completing the program the students will recieve a certificate and are encouraged to share the mindul practices they learned with their teamates, club members, classmates, siblings/relatives and others. They are also encouraged to embody mindful listening and practice mindfulness to model positive behavior, kindness and compassion towards others.
