Program Description
From Afro-Latinx authors and the poet's original pieces on identity, culture, and upbringing, to popular songs that uplift and empower the youth, this program is a celebration of individuality, independence, and the unique traits that give each individual their own spark. This multidisciplinary program offers an exploration of common stereotypes and social issues surrounding body image, hair, and behaviors that affect self-esteem, social interactions, and the overall sense of belonging and acceptance. Thought-provoking, uplifting, and fresh, this original program invites young participants to look deeper into themselves, their identities, dislikes, and values, to find comfort, gratitude, and growth. Participants will be invited and guided to compose an original piece based on the presented theme (time permitting). **The program may address sensitive topics, such as body image, mental health, and discrimination.**
