Program Description
1. PHENOMENAL PHYSICS Phenomenal Physics is a humorous exploration of fundamental physics. Students learn about the structure of domes, arches and airfoils. We demonstrate friction, velocity and inertia. Students experience the power of sonic booms and the speed of sound. The wonders of: Air pressure, spectrums, light, surface tension and polymers are also demonstrated and explored. Phenomenal Physics teaches students that they cannot crush an egg in the palm of their hand but they can put a needle through a balloon and it will not pop. They can learn to throw and make their own boomerang and hear a whip create a sonic boom. A tablecloth is pulled out from beneath glassware stacked on a table and the glassware does not fall. Bubble tricks demonstrate a variety of scientific principles. NY Science learning Standards: PS2.A, PS3.C, PS4.A, ETS1.A
