Program Description
The Career Day Inc. Full Day Program offers a unique and transformative experience by connecting students with a wide range of speakers from various careers and backgrounds. These esteemed speakers include both local professionals and alumni. Their firsthand stories and valuable insights inspire students to explore their passions and make informed decisions about their future career paths. The program starts with an empowering assembly led by a distinguished keynote speaker. This influential address sets the tone for the rest of the day, motivating students to embrace their unique interests and talents. Following the keynote assembly, students are divided into designated classrooms based on their individual interests. In these interactive settings, students have the opportunity to engage directly with professionals from various industries, gaining valuable insight into their respective careers. Students are often surprised to learn how artists, plumbers, engineers, or electricians, for instance, utilize mathematics in their daily work. They discover how a love for drawing can pave the way for a successful career in surgery or architecture, inspiring creative and innovative thinking. All participating students are invited to apply for the Arie A. Bucheister Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one student from each school who demonstrates the impact that Career Day had on their future education, goals, or training. The scholarship also serves as a motivating force, encouraging students to build lasting connections with potential job opportunities and mentorships. At Career Day Inc., we understand the unique needs and schedules of each school. Our Full Day Program is thoughtfully tailored to accommodate and enrich the experience of all participants. By providing students with exposure to unfamiliar challenges, we demonstrate that stepping beyond one’s comfort zone can lead to powerful new beginnings and limitless possibilities.
