Program Description
Students will explore: body placement, movement, stage blocking, ensemble strategies and dance choreography to enhance performance elements. We will explore performance objectives, intentions, inner action, purpose, as well as editing and revising performance outcomes. We will explore stage direction, body positions, levels of space, sharing of space, sharing of weight, time management, stage business, musical theatre dance, choreography, direction. Students will receive instruction and background of various stage performer techniques, then will put the techniques into practice by developing short scenes, ensemble pieces, dance and musical theatre numbers, and use of props. Students will learn and practice effective critiquing measures.
