Describe the way(s) this program impacts your students learning and how this arts experience correlates with your curriculum: |
Chris does a wonderful job of bringing students together to work as a team to tell a story in the way that aborigines did. He shares his own stories, shows visuals, gives examples, and even plays his digereedoo . Especially in this day and age of instant gratification he teaches valuable lessons of working with what you have, sustainability, creating something from nothing, partnering with mother nature, gratitude, teamwork, and sharing. These are all extremely valuable skills and he is always a special visitor to have. My high school students still remember and talk about this experience fondly.
