Program Description
This interactive cultural enrichment workshop is a perfect aid for social studies as well as art teachers who would like to acquaint their students with the history of West Africa through the use of fashion. It explores the effects of social and political changes on West African (Sierra Leonean) fashions. Participants take a fashionable trip which begins with visuals of authentic fashions worn by liberated Africans and ends with fashions of contemporary West Africa. This workshop also challenges students to work collaboratively at designing fashions that reflect the social and political changes they have witnessed the United States of America go through. Program is also available 2 days for 45 minutes each at a cost of $425 each day. Cost includes Artist's fees and materials. Inquire about cost quote for an audience size larger than the stated maximum.
